I’m blocking comments for now. Ever since I’ve started advertising my weblog on Slashdot, I’ve been getting at least three spam comments per day. Since I don’t post here much due to time constraints, I’m turning comments off. If you’ve got something to say, please email it to me and I will be glad to post it for you.
Well, I’ve decided to bite the bullet and actually pay for webhosting (through Dreamhost). Previously, I’d run this site out of a server in my basement. Unfortunately, that method has become impractical. The reason I originally decided to administer this website that way was twofold: hosting isn’t free, and I wanted more experience with network administration.
The transition has appeared to be pretty straightforward so far. It took less effort than I expected to transfer the files and database, and get everything back in working order. Hopefully, from you guy’s perspective, nothing at all should change. If anyone notices something broken, please, let me know!

I’m mucking around with the index template and its stylesheet, trying to clean up Jordi’s ugly code
and tweak things closer to my personal liking. I’ve made the changes live, but they haven’t been thoroughly tested. If anyone. If you experience problems, something isn’t rendering correctly, or there are other awkward problems, please let me know. If possible, include a screenshot of the problem.
For those of you who don’t like the orange background, I’ve included an option on the Utility panel on the left to change stylesheets. “Clean” should be more to your liking. In the future, I’ll probably add more styles.
And yes, Joya, borkage is a word.
I’ve been fooling with the color scheme a little in order to make the blog look a bit more pleasing to the eye. The white-on-black color scheme was just too dull. If anyone has suggestions or complaints, go ahead and fire off an email at me. Later on, I intend to have user-selectable stylesheets, so you can choose at your own discretion how you prefer to view the page.
Before I get to the actually interesting stuff, I want to take a moment to thank my good friend Jordi Bunster for taking the time to help me set up Movable Type. In addition to helping with installation, he stuck around long enough to assist me in writing more aesthetic templates, which admittedly resemble (read: were stolen from) his, and are leagues better than the default.
